Wikipaintings

Wikipaintings försöker skapa ett omfattande bibliotek av konst från grottmålningar till nutiden, med samma upplägg som Wikipedia men med bilder som bas i stället för text. Även om projektet fortfarande är ganska ny finns det en imponerande samling konstverk av hundratals konstnärer.

Projektet samlar in bilder på så många verk som möjligt, med tillstånd från upphovsmännen, och har en imponerande samling på över 75 000 objekt. Du kan söka efter olika kriterier: konstnär, stil, tidsperiod, målningsteknik mm.

- The project aims to create high-quality, most complete and well-structured online repository of fine art. We hope to make classical art a little more accessible and comprehensible, and also want to provide a new form of interaction between contemporary artists and their audience. In the future we plan to cover the entire history of art — from cave artworks to the new talents of today.
